The current coronavirus pandemic is leading to stricter hygiene regulations worldwide. Contactless payment solutions significantly reduce the risk of infection during the payment process.

The novel coronavirus can survive on surfaces for several days and can be passed on by touching contaminated surfaces. Even though most transmissions occur via droplet infection, countries around the world are calling for stricter hygiene measures. Multiple domestic payment schemas like the German banking industry also allow contactless payment up to similar amounts.

Convenient payment with your own smartphone
Even higher amounts can be paid without contact using a smartphone. cVEND terminals also support mobile NFC wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. In these cases, no PIN entry is required at the terminal for payments above the contactless limit. The user simply identifies him/herself to the terminal via smartphone using either a fingerprint or a PIN.
